Peterson/Caldwell Bridge and Exit Ramp Closure Updates

Please be mindful of the ramp closures at Peterson/Caldwell, and Cicero. IDOT is installing additional signage to notify motorists.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Peterson/Caldwell Bridge and Exit Ramp Closure – The Petersen bridge over I-94 is undergoing structural repairs and receiving a new deck overlay. Large portions of the deck are impassable for traffic exiting from I-94, making the ramp closures necessary for safety.  The project has a 50 working day time limit. Work began June 1st. A reasonable estimate for the length of the project would be 4 months, setting the completion date at the end of September, assuming there are no major unforeseen complications. The closure permit was set for the end of November to allow time for those unforeseen complications.  The city anticipates the ramp opening before the end of November.
