Bob Perkaus Memorial 5K

It is our pleasure to announce the Bob Perkaus Memorial 5K! This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 1st at Sauganash Park, located at 5861 N. Kostner. Each year the Bob Perkaus 5K attracts over 200 participants from our community.
Registration is now open at www.runreg.org/perkaus5k. Registration fees are $30 for individual runners, and $80 for a family of up to 4. Benefits include a fantastic long-sleeve technical t-shirt and modest prizes for race winners in each age group!!
Bob Perkaus III, for whom this 5K is named, was a lifelong Sauganash resident until his death in 2005. For two decades, he was an active member of the Sauganash Community Association, having spent several years serving as its President.
Bob’s passions in life were his beautiful family, serving the community, and his passion for running. He jogged the streets of the Sauganash neighborhood daily, training for various races across the country. The Sauganash Community Association Bob Perkaus Memorial 5K travels the same streets.
Proceeds raised from this event will be donated to local schools that share Bob’s commitment to our community. Schools invest in our youth, support our families, and enrich our community, including Loyola Academy, Queen of All Saints School, and Sauganash Elementary School. Last year’s race generated $7,500 in donations to each of these schools.
This event has been a huge success thanks to the support of our local community and we hope we can count on your participation this year.
